10 plans to do outdoors in Barcelona

Go out and enjoy the plans you can make in the city. Walking, visiting, taking pictures… there are many options you have at your disposal. Here are some ideas for what you can do outdoors in Barcelona, and we hope they work for you!

1. Sports in the Barceloneta

By bike, rollerblades or walking. You choose the way you want to enjoy an incredible coastal walk through Barceloneta and its beach.  

Also, when you get tired you can enjoy a refreshing drink in one of its bars or restaurants on the promenade. Without a doubt one of the best outdoor plans!

On the Barceloneta beach, you can take the cable car to reach the Mirador de Miramar and enjoy the views of the port.

2. Picnic in the Ciutadella Park

The Ciutadella Park is located in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is a classic known by the people of Barcelona who come on weekends to enjoy the large lawn areas where they can settle. It is ideal to go in groups and with children because of the many activities that take place there.

3. Visit Horta’s labyrinth

This plan is a little further away from the centre of Barcelona, but we promise you that it is worth it. The park is located in the Horta district of Barcelona (at the Mundet exit), right next to the University of Barcelona campus. It’s a great place to take pictures or just walk around. Your entrance fee is €2.35 for 1 hour. On Sundays, it is free.

4. Taking photos on the kissing wall

One of the most sought-after spots for tourists and locals in Barcelona. The photomosaic of Joan Fontcuberta’s Kiss located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic quarter. Everything and that at first it was a temporary mosaic, the city council of Barcelona decided to leave it permanently because of its incredible welcome. 4000 photographs converted into small tiles to form this great kiss. Come closer and change your perspective to see them.

5. Bunkers el Carmel

The Carmel Bunkers are a viewpoint of the city of Barcelona that, until recently, was not very well known by the people. It is located in the Carmel district of Barcelona. In this viewpoint we find the remains of an anti-aircraft battery from the Spanish Civil War. Nowadays it is one of the most frequented places to admire the views of the city. 6. Get lost in the streets of Gràcia

The district of Gràcia is a unique neighbourhood. Visit its alleys and businesses, its squares and its bars. Everything is essential to keep alive the spirit of the old Villa de Gràcia. Diamond Square, Verdi Street, Plaza de la Vila de Gracia, etc. Get to know the old heart of the city.

7. Walk through the Arco de Triunfo

Walking along the Arco de Triunfo walk is a must for those visiting Barcelona for the first time. It is located in the centre of the wide Passeig de Lluís Companys, very close to the Parc de la Ciutadella.

8. Visit the Montjuic Castle

9. Find the Barcelona swing

10. Tibidabo Church

Another must-visit in Barcelona is the spectacular church in Tibidabo Park (both inside and outside). Many people take advantage of their visit to the park to take pictures on the many stairs at the entrance.
