What to do in Barcelona in December 2021

December, the most magical month of the year, brings with it thousands of plans to enjoy and end the year in the best possible way. Here is a list of the best things to do in Barcelona in December.

Untasted Cheese Fest

The festival for cheese lovers, also known as Untasted Cheese Fest, will be held on 4th and 5th of December at l’Estació Espai Gastronòmic in Barcelona. 

You’ll be able to taste cheeses and products from all over the world, all accompanied by cocktails, DJ, live music and much more… You can’t miss it!

Cool Christmas Fest

On 4th and 5th of December 2021, don’t miss the Cool Christmas Fest, the Christmas edition of the Palo Market Fest.

Leisure, culture and open-air commerce to enjoy the most magical time of the year.

Jazztrònica Fest & Market

On Sunday 5th of December, you can enjoy Jazztrònica Fest & Market, the new and popular festival that combines jazz and electronica which will take place in the main garden of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.

Concerts, dj sets, market with vinyl fair, record labels, jazz talks, gastronomic and children’s area… and much more!

Brunch-In the City

On Monday 6th December, make the most of the holiday and go to the Brunch-In the City event at the Parc del Fórum in Barcelona. On Sunday 12h of December, you can also enjoy the festival that will be held in the Plaza Mayor in El Poble Espanyol.

Festivalet

After two years, Festivalet, the fair for independent artisans and designers, is back. On 11th and 12th of December 2021, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, visit the 14th edition of Festivalet in a new location, the old Fabra i Coats textile factory in the Sant Andreu neighbourhood.

March Against Cancer

Do your bit, on 12th of December sign up for the 5th edition of the race against cancer organized by the Association Against Cancer in Barcelona and help raise money for cancer research. Also, you will be able to participate both in person and virtually.

World Press Photo 2021

From the 11th of November to the 12th of December 2021, you will enjoy the World Press Photo, the most renowned photojournalism exhibition in the world, at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. In this exhibition, you will see all the photographs and also the multimedia pieces that won prizes in the World Press Photo competition.

Visits are free of charge on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., by prior reservation.

La Fira de Santa LLucía

The Fira de Santa Llucía, is one of the most important Christmas markets in the city and is also the oldest. Year after year, it is celebrated in the surroundings of the emblematic Cathedral of Barcelona, this year you can enjoy the Fira from the 26th of November to the 23rd of December.

Fira de Nadal de la Sagrada Familia

From the 27th of November until the 23rd of December 2021, stroll around the Fira de Nadal de la Sagrada Família

Christmas trees, nativity scene figurines, mistletoe, Christmas decorations, sweets stalls, churros, music and much more… To enjoy the Christmas season to the full.

Fira de Sant Tomàs i Reis a la Gran Via

La Fira de Sant Tomàs i de Reis, will be open from the 17th of December to the 6th of January 2022. As every year, it will be on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between Muntaner and Rocafort streets. 

Gifts, toys, churros, handicrafts… You can’t miss it!

Apuntes para un incendio de los ojos

From the 22nd of October 2021 to the 27th of February 2022, visit the first Panorama exhibition “Apuntes para un incendio de los ojosthat will take place in the Meier Building of the MACBA museum. 

Every Sunday at 12:00 h, with prior registration, you can enjoy a free guided tour of the exhibition.

Skiing in December

From the 26th of November you will be able to enjoy the ski resorts in Catalonia. So, if you love skiing and snow, save this date in your calendar.
